Our Initiatives

The W Group provides significant support back to the Canadian municipal government sector through its various initiatives

The W Group has working partnership agreements with several municipalities. Municipal Shared Resources Initiative enables one municipality to create the core content/material along with the design of an E-Learning Program and share it with another municipality at a 'reasonable fee' with a credit going back to the originating municipality. Ultimately, many municipalities can share in the proactive, innovative approach taken by the originating municipality. Shared Resources benefit all participating municipalities.

Fees collected from partner municipalities are based on the size of the municipality with very cost-effective ranges and low annual maintenance fees. Most E-Learning programs are flat rated with no cost per seat charges applied.

An example of a municipal shared resources initiative is The W Group being engaged by the City of Surrey to develop a WHMIS E-Learning program which was then provided to the Cities of Coquitlam and Richmond at a reduced fee with a credit being transferred back to the City of Surrey.

Over the past several years our team at The W Group has been perfecting a Municipal Association Membership Survey Program.

Our membership survey goes beyond the standard ‘run of the mill’ methodology to not only assess membership satisfaction and retention but also the much more revealing levels of engagement and connectedness.

This survey approach and full support is available to municipal associations on a ‘by-invitation basis’. The W Group has developed this Zero Cost survey program for municipal associations as a way for us give back to the community we serve.

Under a strategic alliance agreement, The W Group provides professional research support services to Municipal World. This research involves the study of trends and shifts within the Canadian municipal sector and supports ground-breaking investigative articles in local governance.
